TEDx Talk (Youtube) - This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. After the success of his book, Zoltan started actively promoting transhumanism and other futurist issues giving talks, media interviews and of course, writing. He’s a techno-optimist and left the audience with a positive feeling when looking into the future! Bestselling visionary author Zoltan Istvan, an American-Hungarian, began a solo, multi-year sailing journey around the world at the age of 21. His main cargo was 500 handpicked books, mostly classics. He's explored over 100 countries—many as a journalist for the National Geographic Channel—writing, filming, and appearing in dozens of television stories, articles, and webcasts. He writes transhumanist-themed columns: “The Transhumanist Philosopher” for Psychology Today and “Transhumanist Future” for Vice’s Motherboard, and is a blogger for The Huffington Post. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
