Research suggests poor ballot design impacted the Florida 2018 US Senate race. Florida has already passed a law to standardize ballot design in the future. If everyone in Broward County who voted Democrat for governor had recorded a vote for US Senate, Bill Nelson would have picked up 9658 votes. He lost the election by 10,033 so the design flaw was significant but not decisive.
