I have no idea what I was doing the night I went down the YouTube rabbit hole and found the above video. But it’s interesting. It demonstrates the 21st century version of how a lady in the 1700s would get dressed.
The video comes from the National Museums Liverpool channel. But a group called Crows Eye Productions apparently made it. Crows Eye has its own YouTube Channel (which contains a bunch of other videos about getting dressed in a bunch of other centuries). The below video of how a 1700s working woman would get dressed comes from the Crows Eye account.
“So where is the video showing how an 18th century man would get dressed? Hmmm, you sexist?” you ask. To which I reply, “Shut up! I reject your ‘sexist’ accusations!”
However, if you go back to the National Museums Liverpool channel you can find a video of how an 18th century gentleman might have dressed.
So enjoy the two videos here. Or be enraged with them because they only feature how women used to dress. Doesn’t matter to me. But please share this post on social media, and leave your rantings in the below comments section as you see fit. I’ve left mine right here.
