Society Favors Women -- The prevailing narrative is that society treats women as second-class citizens. Of course, the opposite is true. And this story succinctly demonstrates that.

Notice that the story states that the crowd supposedly cheered female Fallon Sherrock "throughout." Moreover, notice what the last paragraph says.

"Organizers decided for the first time last year to allocate two of the 96 places in the world championship field to women. Previously, women could attempt to qualify for the event, but now spots are guaranteed."

So women were GIVEN spots. The men, on the other hand, presumably had to fight and claw their way to get in the competition. And two men who otherwise would've qualified? So sad, too bad.

So the deck was stacked in favor of women. On top of this, the reason the crowd supposedly cheered and heaped accolades on one or both of the women is because . . . they were relatively terrible. Seriously, the 22nd-seeded man in the tournament defeated The Great and Powerful Fallon Sherrock (the apparently BETTER of the two women).

This is all a microcosm of how society treats women--how society overwhelmingly FAVORS females over males and lavishes praise on them for "achievements" that would earn men contempt.

And yet the myth of "The Patriarchy" (if only) and "systemic misogyny" persists.
