May is all about the Avengers: Infinity War, which comes out April 27, but there are some other Marvel happenings a-brewin' as well outside of the Disney universe.
First, is the new, official trailer for Venom starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom. Hardy's American accent is going to take bit getting used to, but after the let down from the Venom-less first teaser we FINALLY get to see him change into the Venom symbiote, and it is frighteningly terrific. They even released a great poster to match!
Now, we have a whole summer to wait until Hardy splatters this wicked villain (now an anti-hero) on the big screen, as Venom comes out Oct. 5.
Next, every poster, teaser, and trailer for Deadpool 2 has been funnier and more action-packed than the next, from the Bob Ross and Norman Rockwell parodies, to the introduction of the latest X-Force member...Peter (who we all wish we were). Now, there's an official IMAX poster for the show, and it is simply put, just perfect. If "Lisa Frank" had a really bad day and a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20, this would be the result. Deadpool 2 floats his sparkly little Hello Kitty-loving, self onto the big screen on May 18.
I am looking forward to the latest Avengers, but if you're experiencing some "Disney over-hype" fatigue, there are now a few side trips to the darker side of Marvel. Who is ready for a crossover where The Merc with the Mouth and Venom have to team up against Carnage? Let's do this.
