Aspercreme produced the 15-second video posted above. It’s old; at least six months old. So it might as well be from the Dark Ages as far as social media is concerned. But I just saw it for the first time the other day. It’s hilarious—the folks at Aspercreme must be really happy with whichever ad agency produced it. Part of the hilarity comes from a creepiness factor. And that made me think about the innocuous song, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” and just how phony all the hysteria surrounding it is.
Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean—about the hilarity of the ad and why the outrage over “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is so insincere.
