Eivør Pálsdóttir hails from the Faroe Islands, singing in her native tongue and other languages (or at least English). You may not recognize her name, yet you may have heard her work. Regardless, give her a try now if you’re looking for a unique voice.

I learned of Pálsdóttir by way of a tweet from J. Davila-Ashcraft. So I checked her out and, like Davila-Ashcraft, I enjoyed her music.

Her music is just as good when it’s stripped. Below is an acoustic version of her song “Far Away.”

As far as some of her music that you may have already heard, a trailer for Season 4 of Game of Thrones featured her work.

And she has performed work for the Netflix series, The Last Kingdom.

So if you want something a little bit different on your playlist, Eivør Pálsdóttir might have some music that you’d enjoy.
