Here are the latest updates regarding the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, according to Bloomberg.

As of February 20, 2021, 8:49 PM EST, the global vaccination count was at 202 million. Vaccines have been administered in 88 countries and are averaging 6.35 million inoculations per day.

In the United States, 61,289,500 shots have been administered so far. Vaccinations began in the US on December 14 with healthcare workers being the first recipients. The US is averaging 1,321,497 inoculations per day. The number of vaccinations fell in the past week as officials continue to struggle with supply and logistics.

So far 42.8 million Americans have received at least one dose. 17.9 million people have received both doses of the vaccine.

  • 12.9 percent of the population has received the first dose
  • 5.4 percent of the population has received both doses
  • 81.7 percent of shots delivered have been administered.
  • California is the leading US state with over 7 million doses administered.

At this rate, it would take approximately 11 months before 75 percent of the US population could be vaccinated. White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci has estimated that 70-80 percent of the population would need to be vaccinated before a return to normalcy can take place.
