State Senator Explains Global Warming: 'We're Moving Closer To The Sun'

"I haven't been in a science class in a long time, but the earth moves closer to the sun every year-you know the rotation of the earth," Wagner, a York County state senator, said, according to StateImpact Pennsylvania. "We're moving closer to the sun."

Pennsylvania State Senator Scott Wagner (R) explained his understanding of global warming: 'We're moving closer to the sun.' Mr. Wagner made this comment and others as he keynoted an event for natural gas advocates in Harrisburg according to Penn Live.

"I haven't been in a science class in a long time, but the earth moves closer to the sun every year-you know the rotation of the earth," Wagner, a York County state senator, said, according to StateImpact Pennsylvania. "We're moving closer to the sun."

He added, according to StateImpact's Katie Meyer, that, "We have more people. You know, humans have warm bodies. So is heat coming off? Things are changing, but I think we are, as a society, doing the best we can."

Actually Wagner may have a point, but it is not the Earth moving toward the sun. It is Trump. Trump every day spews hot air into the atmosphere, and this surely contributes to global warming. This makes more sense than Sen Wagner's dumb ascertain.

The best thing we can do with Wagner and Meyer is to put them in a cupboard and shut the door.

I just had a similar debate with a Creationist who believed the earth revolved around the sun in a perfect circle.Would you believe it, he apparently checked it out for himself and announced to his on-line supporters, that he had corrected my erroneous belief? I had been trying to convince him that the creation story was a Bronze Age superstition and that evolution was a better explanation concerning the variety of life on the planet.
