SpaceX was recently given the approval to build a Starship in the Port of Los Angeles.

SpaceX was recently given the approval to build a Starship in the Port of Los Angeles, according to LA Biz.

The Los Angeles City Council approved the permit required for building the spacecraft. SpaceX is not required, but now has the authorization to build in that area.

The hope is that the spacecraft would be the one that allows interplanetary travel to Mars. The Starship is currently being developed in Southern Texas. However, In 2018 Elon Musk stated that he was interested in building the Starship in San Pedro.

The development of the Starship has been met with scrutiny from the residents in the South Texas area surrounding the site. The unrest in the current development area could be why SpaceX is looking to move into Southern California.
