Israel And China Sign $300M Deal For 'Lab-Grown' Meat

'Lab-grown' meat is the same as 'regular' meat except it is better for the environment. For instance, it doesn't lead to greenhouse gas emissions. This is likely what is spurring the deal between Israel and China.

Israel and China has signed a $300 million dollar deal for China to purchase Israeli grown lab meat according to Plant Based News.

A $300 million lab meat deal between China and Israel has been described as a 'colossal marketing opportunity' by one of the leading voices in the 'clean meat' movement. Bruce Friedrich is Head of the The Good Food Institute (GFI), an organization which promotes 'meat alternatives'. He believes the deal 'could put [clean] meat onto the radar of Chinese officials who have the capacity to steer billions of dollars into this technology'.
