Democratic Strategist Adam Parkhomenko tweeted on Friday that conservative journalist Glenn Greenwald spread misinformation in regard to Moscow’s connections to Trump with the help of Russian Bots.
“I’m not sure what’s scarier: Glenn Greenwald’s efforts to help Russia, or the fact that he is literally one of the only disinformation accounts that hasn’t been purged by twitter in this thread. Literally almost every other account using his points were Russian bots now deleted,” Tweeted Parkhomenko, who served as National Field Director for the Democratic National Committee in 2016.
The political adviser was responding to a tweet by Glenn Greenwald, a journalist who leads The Intercept, who said, “That Russia hacked the DNC doesn’t show it gave Wiki Leaks the docs. Many others could’ve, or maybe leaked. That's their point.”
Earlier this year, Greenwald ran a series of articles on The Intercept in which he denied Trump’s potential links to the Kremlin. In April, he wrote that “Robert Mueller Did Not Merely Reject the Trump-Russia Conspiracy Theories. He Obliterated Them”
Greenwald rose to fame through a series of reports published on the Guardian on 2013, in which he detailed the surveillance programs of the United States, based on information obtained by former CIA subcontractor Edward Snowden.
