China’s Yutu-2 lunar lander sent back images of a strange substance it found near a small crater on the far side of the Moon, according to Futurism.
The rover’s team claimed it had found a “colored mysterious substance” last month. The rover’s diary claimed that the material’s “shape and color is significantly different from the surrounding lunar soil.”
Yet, the substance is unfortunately located in the middle of a crater, making it difficult to access.
Although it has not been verified, it is thought to be a piece of lunar glass that formed during a meteor impact. Futurism expects that Chinese researchers will continue to release more images of the substance.
