CaliBurger Restaurants Installing Robotic Burger Flippers

CaliBurger Restaurants are mulling a transition to robotic burger flippers according to published reports.

CaliBurger Restaurants are mulling a transition to robotic burger flippers. Over the next two years, robotic burger flippers will be installed in 50 of their restaurants according to ZME Science.

Scholars have warned that demand for low-skilled jobs will drop sharply following automation and flipping burgers is definitely on the robo-overlord menu, as CaliBurger can attest. The fast-food restaurant chain present all over the United States, but also in countries like China, Sweden, Qatar or Taiwan, said it will introduce a burger robot in fifty of its locations. The kitchen assistant, known as ‘Flippy’, was designed by a startup called Miso Robotics which specializes in “technology that assists and empowers chefs to make food consistently and perfectly, at prices everyone can afford.”

'Flippies', the technology behind automated burger flipping, may also be used for other types of meals.

Moving on beyond burgers, it’s quite reasonable seeing Flippy preparing other dishes like fish, chicken, vegetables and such. Moreover, its compact size and adaptability mean that the machine can be installed in any restaurant’s kitchen as it is, with no additional hassle. Flexibility is the keyword here.

@pink_voltron Silicon Valley is trying to automate everything. I recall someone saying (paraphrasing), 'anything that you imagine can be automated, will be automated.'

Thank goodness my line of work cannot be automated.
