According to the New York Times, Desiree Fairooz, the Code Pink activist who laughed at Jeff Sessions during his confirmation hearing, was convicted of disorderly conduct and parading or demonstrating on Capitol grounds.

Fairooz, who claimed that her laughter during the hearing was not intentional, was disappointed in the verdict, “I’m so disgusted with so many different aspects of our current government.”

Her attorney intends to make post-trial motions to set aside the conviction, but this will take time.

Fairooz, however, is undeterred. She intends to continue protesting.

Fairooz now faces a year in prison due to her convictions.
