WH Spox: Trump ‘Stands By His Actions’ Regarding His Handling Of The Pandemic
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said President Trump “stands by the actions and steps he’s taken” regarding his coronavirus response, according to an Independent report.
- As the pandemic wears on and researchers learn more about the novel coronavirus, it has become increasingly clear that a lot of people got a lot of things wrong, especially in the beginning. CNN chief White House correspondent and continued Trump foe Jim Acosta asked on Monday, “Hasn’t the president made mistakes? He suggested at one point that Americans inject themselves with disinfectants - that sort of thing.”
- McEnany answered, “Look, I would note that in terms of the president and his record on coronavirus, he stands by the actions and the steps he’s taken in this historic response.” She claimed Dr. Anthony Fauci said no other person is doing more than President Trump.
- Acosta also questioned the idea that the White House is leaking “opposition research” against Fauci, which McEnany denied.
