WH Press Secretary Appears To Reveal Trump’s Bank Number At Press Briefing
President Donald Trump will donate his salary to the Department of Health and Human Services this quarter, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced during Friday’s press briefing as she held up Trump’s check to reporters.
But according to The Hill, in doing so, McEnany appears to have divulged the president’s personal Capital One bank account information.
The New York Times first reported Friday that McEnany reportedly held up the actual $100,000 check during the briefing, with the account and routing numbers visible.
Both the Hill and the Times reached out to the White House for comment. An administration official reportedly told the Times the administration has not used fake checks at press briefings in the past.
Trump donated his salary to HHS as it rapidly works in partnership with the private sector to develop a coronavirus vaccine, an effort known as “Operation Warp Speed.”
The president has previously donated his salary to the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation and Veteran’s Affairs, government organizations fighting the opioid crisis, and others.
This is the second time the president has donated his quarterly salary to HHS with the first being the fourth quarter of 2019.
