Wayne LaPierre Billed NRA's Ad Agency $13,800 For His Female Intern's Apartment

The details of his relationship with the intern are not known, but he charged Ackerman McQueen Inc. for her rent.

Recently revealed documents illustrate NRA Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre’s life of luxury and exuberance—most of which was billed to the NRA’s ad agency, Ackerman McQueen Inc, the Wall Street Journal reports.

But the contents of one charge seem to stand out above the rest: a $13,800 bill for a summer intern’s rent.

After decades of a close relationship, the NRA filed a lawsuit against Ackerman last month over billing issues, and Ackerman sent letters to LaPierre asking him to explain several of the charges totalling more than $542,000, one of which was the intern’s rent bill.

In the letter, the ad company wrote that LaPierre “required we rent” the young woman an apartment and inquired for LaPierre to provide details about his relationship with her, the details of which are not publicly known.
