No applause followed President Trump's announcement to West Point cadets that his birthday was on Sunday.

During his commencement address at West Point on Saturday, President Donald Trump was met with silence when he told cadets that his birthday was coming up on Sunday.

The president noted that the following day was the Army’s birthday and added that it was also his own.

“Tomorrow, America will celebrate a very important anniversary — the 245th birthday of the US Army. Unrelated, it’s going to be my birthday also. I don’t know if that happened by accident. Did that happen by accident?” he said, turning to the sky as if asking God the question.

Receiving no applause, Trump added: “But it’s a great day because of that Army birthday.”
