I learned that religion is more than a day trip. It is human nature self-preservation seeking something; therefore, you find it because you want understanding or self-inflection. It gave me empathy, learned to be humble, and how to see good in everyone.
And I am inviting every liberal Christian to stand up for the rights of others, poor, sick and hungry. My belief is that God has given us Free Will the paths that he lays out and we have the option to choose it. These radical evangelicals want to force us down “their path”. God does not work that way. We purge these Zealots from our government. This ideology is being politicalized and amplified by corporate intertest and forever changing what Christian beliefs mean. We are losing generations to this strife some that are being mislead and others that are completely repelled by these radical ideologies.
Recently, close relative that insinuated that I could not be Christian and liberal at the same time. It has spurred some shared thoughts with whomever reads this. I have spent a lot of time considering what it means to be Christian in this time of rhetoric disinformation, radical Christian Extremism and the rightwing supporting divisions in our society. For the record I am a scientist very empirical and data driven. And I want my message to very clear that if we continue to allow these radical religious extremists to gain political control. They will change the United States and Christianity.
