WATCH: Fox Host Cuts Off Kellyanne Conway After She Blames NYC’s Mayor For Virus
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway was quickly shut down during an appearance on Fox News Thursday after launching a political attack on New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who is facing the country’s largest coronavirus outbreak.
Conway began by telling Fox’s Harris Faulkner that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided 4,400 ventilators to the state of New York over the past two days, adding that Governor Andrew Cuomo has indicated he needs more and the administration is working to supply the devices to where the need is greatest.
But then she pivoted to an attack on de Blasio, saying: “I do think it’s very disappointing that the mayor of New York City himself was riding the subway on March 5 and telling people to go out on the town on March 2.”
Faulkner immediately cut in, saying, “Right, Kellyanne, I’m going to stop you on the politics.”
But Conway was not deterred, responding: “Well, it’s not politics, it’s that we have a very dire situation in New York City. That is not politics.”
“I think it was politics to say go out on the town,” she tried to get in before Faulkner cut her off again.
“We do have a dire situation,” the host said.
Conway, apparently abandoning the tactic, then moved on to address legislation that unanimously passed in the Senate.
