Video: Black Child Arrested After Not Standing For The Pledge of Allegiance

The sixth-grader's substitute teacher suggested at one point that he return to Africa if he doesn't like the U.S.

A sixth-grade boy at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy in Lakeland, Florida, was arrested earlier this month after an incident that began when he refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

The 11-year-old student told his substitute teacher he finds the American flag "racist," and she asked why he doesn't leave and return to Africa.

He is a U.S. citizen.
