Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the teen climate activist should go to college before speaking on the issue.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Thursday that Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg should get more education under her belt before discussing the economics of climate change, according to Bloomberg.

Mnuchin was asked about the issue at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where the 17-year-old Thunberg spurred discussion on economics as it relates to climate change.

“Is she the chief economist?” Mnuchin joked. “After she goes and studies economics in college, she can go back and explain that to us.”

After President Donald Trump “took a swipe at environmental ‘alarmists’ in his speech Tuesday,” Mnuchin repeatedly clarified the administration’s position on climate change, Bloomberg noted.

“There’s a misinterpretation as to what our view is,” Mnuchin said. “The U.S. administration very clearly believes in clean air and clean water.”

Maybe he can help Dumbo the President get an education as well. I mean this is a man who thinks Americans invented the wheel.
