According to The Guardian, the White House will screen an anti-abortion film this Friday, a few weeks after Trump voiced his concerns about late-term abortions following the passage of New York’s Reproductive Health Act. Pro-life activists around the U.S. have received invitations to watch the graphic film, which shows second and third-trimester abortions.
The film, which was released last year, is titled, Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.” The film follows Kermit Gosnell’s 2013 trial. Gosnell was prosecuted for first-degree murder because he ran an abortion clinic in Philadelphia. In the clinic he performed illegal late-term abortions for women who were disadvantaged. He was later convicted for killing three babies who were born alive.
Since being released in 2015, the film has been supported by anti-abortion activists. Another related movie, Unplanned, was recently released. The movie follows a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who later becomes an anti-abortion activist. The movie was praised by President Trump and VP Mike Pence.
