Trump To Fundraise Off Of Prime Time Address Tonight

The Trump Make America Great Again Committee is asking supporters to help "raise $500,000 in ONE DAY."

In the midst of the partial government shutdown, which has just entered its third week, President Trump is set to address the nation Tuesday night on his demand for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump is not only utilizing the televised address to present his case for the wall but will also be using it as a means of fundraising, according to The Hill.

Through an email sent out on Tuesday afternoon, supporters were asked to “make a special contribution of $4 by 9PM EST” to the “Official Secure the Border Fund.” This fund is run by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee which works with both the Republican National Committee and Trump campaign itself.

"We need to raise $500,000 in ONE DAY. I want to know who stood with me when it mattered most so I’ve asked my team to send me a list of EVERY AMERICAN PATRIOT who donates to the Official Secure the Border Fund.”

The President’s demand for the wall has been the ultimate point of contention in the government shutdown. Trump has refused to sign any bill without funding for the wall and Democrats will not approve of a bill with it.
