Trump Threatens Federal Takeover Of San Francisco, Calls It “Worse Than A Slum"

At a campaign stop in Bakersfield, Trump harshly called San Francisco "worse than a slum" for its homeless crisis.

President Trump harshly criticized the city of San Francisco when he made a campaign stop in Bakersfield on Wednesday, KRON reported.

Trump’s attack focused on the city’s homeless problems and he said if both San Francisco and Los Angeles didn’t fix their homeless crisis, his administration would step in.

“Look what’s happened to San Francisco -- so sad what’s happened. When you see a slum, where it’s a slum -- it’s worse than a slum -- there’s no slum like that. What they’ve done to San Francisco is a crying shame. And it’s something we’re going to do something about. Because, if they don’t fix it up, clean it up, take care of the homeless, do what they have to do -- but clean up their city -- the federal government is going to have to step in. We’re going ot do it in Los Angeles and San Francisco,” he said.

The president has frequently spoken on the issue. In October, Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a series of tweets: “I can’t believe that Nancy Pelosi’s District in San Francisco is in such horrible shape that the City itself is in violation of many sanitary & environmental orders, causing it to owe the Federal Government billions of dollars,” Trump claimed. “And all she works on is impeachment…”

A month before in September, Trump threatened to use the Environmental Protection Agency against San Francisco, accusing the city of allowing a tremendous amount of waste, including needles, to pass through storm drains into the ocean.

“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Trump said. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco -- they’re in total violation -- we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon.”

Considering San Francisco is pretty close to it's 0% waste goals, and mandates compost (unlike any other city) it's greener and more environmentally friendly than any other city in the country. Sorry Mr Dizzy Prez but San Francisco is just fine. Now if you want to see the real slums of DC I'm happy to connect you with the homeless.

All those homeless people are from ruby red states who headed west to try to find work in the worlds 6th largest economy (California). Of course, BenedictDonald would know all about slums considering hes been sued in federal court for being a "slumlord"

If he wants to clean up homelessness, he can start in New York City. Over 70,000 people sleep in the streets every night.

What's he going to do? Rent control? Universal basic income? Build shelters?

Perhaps maybe he should clean-up his OWN slum-the one he and Kushner own in Baltimore??? They own 9,000 units there-the VERY same properties that trump called-uninhabitable for any human-rat infested, filth! Kushner and trump have been charged with numerous violations regarding these properties and people living there ARE suffering DUE to their negligence and greed and indifference!!

Y'all in the media need to stop reporting everything Trump "threatens" as if it were real. 98% of the things he's said he wants to do, pre-election and post, have not happened. He's had three years and broken a few things but hasn't accomplished anything. Maybe "Trump expresses an unrealistic desire to..." would be better than "Trump threatens to..."
