TRUMP SIGNS RUSSIA BILL, THEN PROCEEDS TO TRASH CONGRESS AND THE LAW

President Donald Trump signed Russian sanctions into law today and then proceeded to take jibes at the Congress that passed it in a series on non-sequiturs.

Reading the press release, one can tell when the President felt the need to insert his venom about the law and about Congress.

  1. The bill remains seriously flawed — particularly because it encroaches on the executive branch’s authority to negotiate. Congress could not even negotiate a health care bill after seven years of talking.”
  2. I built a truly great company worth many billions of dollars. That is a big part of the reason I was elected. As President, I can make far better deals with foreign countries than Congress.

Whoever wrote this press release (with the exception of the President’s non-sequiturs) did a fairly good job positioning the administration along side Congress in their determination to sanction Russia, even if in actuality, the President believes that Russia isn’t guilty of anything.
