Trump Says Meeting With Grieving Parents Was 'Beautiful In A Way'

"They lost their son. I believe it was going down the wrong way, because that happens in Europe."

President Donald Trump said his meeting with the parents of Harry Dunn, a British teen killed in the UK when the wife of a U.S. diplomat pulled out onto the road and struck the 19-year-old on his motorbike, was "beautiful in a certain way" but also "very sad."

The president reportedly surprised the couple with an opportunity to meet with the woman who killed their son, which the Dunns said they were not prepared to do. Trump asked more than once, telling them she was in the next room.

While speaking before reporters on Wednesday, Trump suggested that the Dunns had initially agreed to meet the woman, but they maintain that they had not agreed to such a meeting.
