Somehow President Trump was "fully briefed" on Friday but by Saturday morning had not “been briefed yet.”

President Donald Trump struggled to keep straight over the weekend whether or not he was up-to-date on developments regarding the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, saying on Friday he had been “fully briefed” but telling reporters Saturday morning he had not “been briefed yet.”

Regardless, Trump indicated he is certain Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had “absolutely” nothing to do with the journalist’s death.

> Just days after the CIA leaked to theWashington Postits determination that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, was directly involved with the brutal murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, President Donald Trump said in an interview that aired on Sunday that the prince had "absolutely" nothing to do with it and that he would not listen to the recording of the assassination given over by the Turkish government.

> "Because it's a suffering tape, it's a terrible tape. I've been fully briefed on it, there's no reason for me to hear it," Trump said in the interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. "I know everything that went on in the tape without having to hear it."

But the next morning?

> It's strange, however, because while the interview with Fox was filmed on Friday, Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday morning, just before leaving for a trip to visit fire damage in California, "we haven't been briefed yet" about the Khashoggi murder.
