Trump’s Legal Team Has Turned Down An In-Person Interview With Mueller

The president's legal team told Robert Mueller he has no cause to seek follow-up questions, according to CNN.

Following President Donald Trump’s submission of written answers to special counsel Robert Mueller’s questions, the president’s legal team turned down a request by Mueller for an in-person follow-up session, according to CNN.

As Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between Trump associates and Russians winds down, an interview with the President remains an outstanding issue even as Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani said an interview would happen "over my dead body." One source familiar with the matter summed it up by saying, "Mueller is not satisfied."

People familiar with the talks describe the two sides as at loggerheads, with no meaningful discussion about the issue in about five weeks.

Trump’s attorneys reportedly told Mueller he has no cause to seek follow-up questions and indicated the president is finished with any type of interviews.
