Trump Retweets Lie That Omar “Partied On 9/11”

The original tweet was posted by right-wing conspiracy theorist Terrence K. Williams but later deleted.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump amplified the tweet of a conspiracy theorist who falsely stated that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “partied” on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

According to Mediaite, the now-deleted tweet showed video of Omar dancing and claimed that the Muslim congresswomen was partying on the solemn day.

In fact, Omar had done no such thing. The video referenced by right-wing personality Terrence K. Williams — who the president retweeted once before, suggesting Hillary Clinton was involved in Jeffrey Epstein’s death — was taken during an event hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus on September 13.

Omar caught wind of Trump’s tweet and accused him of putting her life in danger by promoting such lies about her:
