TRUMP RAGES IN FRONT OF EU LEADERS, CALLING THE GERMANS: “BAD, VERY BAD”

During a meeting with top European Union leaders, President Donald Trump singled out German officials, saying to them, “the Germans are bad, very bad,” according to German magazine Der Speigel.

Mr. Trump was reportedly upset that German car manufacturers are exporting so many vehicles to the United States. “See the millions of cars they are selling in the U.S. Terrible,” he said. “We will stop this.”

The President has previously expressed anger over German car sales in the United States.

Back in January, Mr. Trump specifically called out BMW, “If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax. I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that.”

In the meeting with Mr. Trump was European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker and the European Council President Donald Tusk.

According to another German publication, the President did not seem to understand that the European Union negotiates trade as a bloc, not per country.
