President Donald Trump opted to paint Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), who was recently announced as former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate, as “angry” and “mad” in a new Fox Business interview with Maria Bartiromo on Thursday.
- The Independent reported that Trump said of Harris, “And now you have a mad woman. Such hatred for Judge Kavanaugh,” referring to her exchanges with now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings.
- RawStory quoted the president as saying Harris “was the angriest of the group [of Democrats at the Kavanaugh hearings] and they were all angry,” adding: “They’re all radical left, angry people. These are seriously ill people.”
- Trump’s characterization of Harris as “angry” is a stereotype that has long been used to disparage Black women.
