“You know what? They’ll be able to get a good job, because we set a jobs record over the last quarter."

President Trump called for a boycott of Goodyear on Wednesday morning, and during his press briefing later in the day he defended the move.

Trump made his case for why the company deserves a boycott after saying employees couldn’t wear politically affiliated items, like a MAGA hat, to the workplace but allowing show of support for Black Lives Matter.

The president suggested that workers who might lose their jobs as a result of his boycott suggestion could simply go out and find different work.

“You know what? They’ll be able to get a good job, because we set a jobs record over the last quarter,” he said. “The most jobs ever in the history of our country. You’ll be able to get another good job.”

Vox’s Aaron Rupar noted that the unemployment rate in the U.S. is currently over 10 percent.
