President Donald Trump proposed on Tuesday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un might want to trade missile tests on his country’s beaches for hotels or other real estate development.
While speaking to reporters after the Singapore summit, Trump said North Korea "could have the best hotels in the world."
"Instead of doing that [launching missiles], you could have the best hotels in the world right there," Trump said he told Kim. "Think of it from a real estate perspective."
Though talks between the two leaders covered various topics, the Hill notes that Trump’s experience as a real estate developer was on full display:
"You have South Korea, you have China and they own the land in the middle. How bad is that, right?" he continued. "It’s great."
