President Trump has confused mail-in voting and absentee ballots as two separate things

In a series of tweets, President Trump has revealed that he has a fundamental misunderstanding of the voting process, according to The Week.

  • In a tweet, Trump criticized mail-in ballots, calling them dishonest and suggesting that they would contribute to a rigging of the election.
  • Then in another tweet, he continued saying that absentee ballots were acceptable as they were less fraudulent, not considering the fact that mail-in ballots and absentee ballots are the exact same thing.

  • This is not the first time Trump has confused mail-in ballots and absentee ballots as two separate things. His claim that mail-in ballots are fraudulent also has no legitimate basis as all five states with all-mail elections have not faced any major issues with fraud.
