President Donald Trump lamented on Monday that Democrats might seek to impeach the “brilliant jurist” Brett Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court on Saturday, due to a “hoax” of their own making — the sexual misconduct accusations against him.
Trump told reporters on the White House lawn that Kavanaugh is “man that did nothing wrong, a man that was caught up in a hoax that was set up by the Democrats.”
He also said the FBI investigation found nothing to corroborate Christine Blasey Ford’s claims, nor those of Deborah Ramirez, surmising that Kavanaugh must therefore be innocent of the accusations.
> “The American public has seen this charade, has seen this dishonesty by the Democrats,” Trump added. “And when you mention impeach a justice of the United States Supreme Court… who did nothing wrong, and there was no corroboration of any kind.”
> “It was all made up, it was fabricated,” the president continued. “And I think it’s really going to show you something come November 6.”
Trump also predicted that “a lot of Democrats are going to vote Republican” in the upcoming midterm elections — because Democrats have moved so far left that the U.S. is in danger of “being Venezuela”.
