Trump Apparently Bought Copies Of Don Jr.’s Book To Game The NYT Bestseller List

The Trump campaign bought Donald Trump Jr.'s new book in bulk to offer signed copies to supporters.

President Donald Trump boasted on Wednesday that his son’s new book topped the New York Times Bestseller list, but he failed to acknowledge a key detail: Trump’s campaign bought Donald Trump Jr.’s book in bulk.

As noted by RawStory, a “dagger” is placed next to Trump Jr.’s book, “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us,” at the number one spot on The Times list, denoting large “Institutional, special interest, group or bulk purchases” of the book.

In fact, ThinkProgress founder Judd Legum reported last week that Trump’s campaign is “using campaign funds to bulk purchase his son’s book,” with a fundraising email promising supporters a signed copy in exchange for a $50 contribution.

A well-earned number one spot, it seems.
