In the city of Pescara, Abruzzo in Italy, balls of hail the size of oranges battered the town and its people. The hail shattered windows and car windshields, roofs were damaged, and people were injured.
According to The Local, 20 people were taken to the hospital for treatment after they were hit with the hail. Many of those people required stitches.
Extreme rain followed the hail, flooding various parts of the city. Mayor Carlo Masci declared a state of emergency on Wednesday.
As climate-change spreads, weather like this could become the new normal.
