The Freedom Caucus Censures Justin Amash After He Calls For Trump’s Removal

The Freedom Caucus unanimously censured its founding member Michigan Republican Justin Amash, after the recently controversial congressman tweeted that Trump’s conduct is impeachable and that Attorney General William Barr had intentionally misled the public about Mueller’s report, according to Vox.

The conservative politician added that the impeachment process should start soon, but he has yet to commit to signing an impeachment initiative.

The reaction of the caucus, which was founded as a center for the most conservative members of the legislature, is a notch above the attacks Trump critics like Senators Bob Corker and Jeff Flake have received.

The organization, once a promoter of small-government and constitutionally conservative ideals, is increasingly aligned with Trump, which has given it the political capital to push important items of its agenda, including health care and immigration.

“My job is to defend the Constitution. I’m laying out the information I want to lay out, and it’s not about getting on TV or anything like that,” Amash told CNN on Wednesday.

Members of Congress reacted to the legislator's online comments early in the week. “Justin is one person with one opinion that is out of step with this conference and out of step with America,” said House minority leader Kevin McCarthy Tuesday.

The "Freedom" Caucus. How ironic. I suppose this means only free "not" to oppose them. The constitution was well crafted by brilliant minds to prevent the abuse of power by tyrannical "stable geniuses" imbued with the noteworthy quality of absolute, total and complete self adoration. But regardless the old adage holds true. Where there's a will there is a way, to humble into submission all who do not adore "thee" stable genius as much as he adores himself. Shame on such high minded enemies of the people, shame, shame, shame on us!
