The teenager was found in the parking area of a Texas school. Police said there are currently no signs of foul play.

A Black male teenager was found hanged outside of a Texas school on Tuesday, according to The Daily Beast.

  • The Harris County Sheriff’s Office, which covers the Houston area, said in a statement that “security video, witnesses and other evidence” seem to suggest the “male hanged himself.”
  • The statement added: “There are currently no signs of foul play. Cause of death is pending autopsy.”
  • The teenager reportedly was found in the parking area of the school.

The Daily Beast noted that news of the teen’s death came one day after a man was found hanged near a Houston store in what authorities believe was a suicide.

It also follows reports of two other Black men found hanged in recent weeks in California, “prompting calls for further investigation after authorities initially deemed the deaths to be suicides.”
