Governor Greg Abbott’s (R-TX) Thursday order requiring people to wear masks in public places reportedly does not include churches.
The order includes among its list of exemptions: “any person who is actively providing or obtaining access to religious worship.” It goes on to say that “wearing a face covering is strongly encouraged.”
Public health scientist Eric Feigl-Ding noted on Twitter that the U.S. has seen coronavirus outbreaks linked to churches.
