Story Updated: Feinstein Leans Toward Acquitting Trump
The Intellectualist has updated this story about Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and her views on acquitting President Donald Trump. We had originally reported that Feinstead had been in favor of acquitting Trump. However, as per Axios, Feinstein now claims that she has changed her mind on the matter.
This is no longer case:
Senator Dianne Feinstein is leaning towards acquitting Trump after his lawyers ended their impeachment defense arguments, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Senator Feinstein is the first Democrat to suggest that she might vote to acquit President Trump. “Nine months left to go, the people should judge. We are a republic, we are based on the will of the people — the people should judge,” she said Tuesday. “That was my view and it still is my view.”
She still has serious concerns regarding President Trump's character and arguments in the trial had left her in the dark about her decision. She stated that, “impeachment isn’t about one offense. It’s really about the character and ability and physical and mental fitness of the individual to serve the people, not themselves.”
However, when Senator Feinstein was directly asked if she would vote to acquit Trump she said, "we're not finished."
Senator Dianne Feinstein alluded towards a possible vote of acquittal for President Donald Trump in the ongoing impeachment trial.
