Starting on July 15, all Starbucks customers must wear a mask inside each US store.

Earlier this week, Starbucks announced that they will be requiring all customers to wear a face mask in all US locations beginning on July 15, according to a report by CBS News.

The company says that they want to prioritize the health of their customers and assist public health officials in their efforts to slow the spread of coronavirus.

"The company is committed to playing a constructive role in supporting health and government officials as they work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19," Starbucks said.

Customers that don’t wish to wear a mask can still purchase from the store via the drive thru at select locations or from the Starbucks app, where their orders can be picked up curbside or delivered.

Lynn Gilles became popular on social media after she went into a Starbucks location and refused to wear a facial covering. Lenin Gutierrez was the employee that asked her to wear a mask in accordance with the county’s public health mandate.

The woman lashed out at Gutierrez, and after going viral on social media, a GoFundMe raised over $100,000 for the barista.
