The House Committee on Oversight and Reform voted to subpoena Kellyanne Conway after she failed to appear for a hearing regarding her multiple Hatch Act violations.
Special Counsel Henry Kerner said that the Office of Special Counsel had "never issued two reports on the same person" before Conway, and that no one before her had violated the Hatch Act repeatedly. During the hearing, Democrats called for consequences for Conway while Republicans challenged Kerner and classified the issue as a distraction.
In its most recent report, the Office of Special Counsel found Conway guilty of 11 Hatch Act violations and found her guilty of two violations in its 2018 report. Conway failed to appear for her hearing after the White House rejected the committee’s request.
