Politico is reporting that Senate Republicans will take another stab at repealing President Obama’s signature health care law.

South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham has authored a proposal which has attracted the supported of so-called Republican moderates Dean Heller (NV-R) and Bill Cassidy (LA-R).

According to Politico:

The proposal from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) would block grant federal health care funding to the states and keep much of Obamacare’s tax regime. White House officials also met with House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) to brainstorm how to make the idea palatable to conservatives, according to two sources familiar with the meeting.”

The President is also attempting to bully Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) into changing the Senate’s rule on filibusters. While such a rule may serve the interests of Republicans now, it could easily go against them in the next election.

The senior U.S. senator from Kentucky is well aware of this and is publicly and privately telling the President that such a move would be disastrous for the Senate, effectively turning the U.S. Senate into the House of Representatives.
