Scott Walker Mocks Bare Shelves Of Detroit Food Pantry, Blames “Socialism”


The former governor of Wisconsin mocked Bernie Sanders and Rashida Tlaib while ignoring the issue of food insecurity.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and Rep. Rashida Tlaib recently visited a food pantry in the congresswoman’s district, which includes Detroit, with images of the trip showing empty shelves in the background.

Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) decided to tweet about the visit on Monday, writing, “Anyone notice the backdrop behind @BernieSanders and @RashidaTlaib looked like the empty shelves of grocery stores in many socialist countries?”

“Irony,” he said, referencing Sanders’ self-applied label as a Democratic Socialist.
