Sarah Huckabee Sanders Gets Roasted At WHCD 2018, She Was Not Happy

Comedian Michelle Wolf didn't hold back as she roasted White House press secretary Sarah Sanders Saturday night.

Comedian Michelle Wolf threw down a brutal roast of White House press secretary Sarah Sanders Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner – and Sanders was clearly not happy about it.

The evening typically includes playful roasts of the president and vice versa for the media. Wolf, host of The Break premiering in May on Netflix, held absolutely nothing back, though she was just feet from the White House press secretary.

After comparing Sanders to Aunt Lydia from The Handmaid’s Tale, Wolf moved on to more savage material:

"I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful," Wolf said, setting up her next jab. "She burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies."

"I'm never really sure what to call Sarah Huckabee Sanders," Wolf continued. "Is it Sarah Sanders? Is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Is it Cousin Huckabee? Is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what's Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?"

Throughout the time Wolf's attention was on Sanders, the press secretary's facial expressions revealed she was not having a good time.

Wolf’s roast of Sanders, and others, provoked strong reactions on both sides of an argument as to whether the host went too far in her criticisms of Trump administration officials.

Others were not impressed, if not outright put off:

President Donald Trump – who did not attend the event for the second year – also weighed in via Twitter Sunday morning:
