Rick Santorum: Clinton’s Use Of Private Emails Is Much Different Than Ivanka’s

Former Senator Rick Santorum insisted there is a huge difference between Ivanka's actions and those of Hillary Clinton.

Following reports that Ivanka Trump used her personal email account to conduct government business, former Senator Rick Santorum downplayed the issue, saying it was not the same as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email server.

From The Hill:

> CNN's Chris Cuomo asked Santorum, a CNN political analyst, and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers (D) if they believe the comparisons are fair.

>

> "To ignore the obvious differences here is, I think, a little hypocritical," [Santorum] said. "Hillary Clinton went out an established her own server in full knowledge that what she was doing was wrong, number one."

Trump reportedly was unaware she was violating federal records rules by using private email to correspond with government officials.

> "Number two, she - this was a political person who had political aspirations, who was doing things in her own interest as a political figure, as opposed to Ivanka, who is not a political figure, who is the daughter of the president, yet she was not the Secretary of State dealing with a variety of very sensitive and classified information," Santorum added.

>

> Cuomo fact-checked several of Santorum's claims, saying Trump is a White House official who was corresponding with government figures. Cuomo added that Clinton's email server was "set up by her husband" and her emails ultimately were not found to contain classified information.

Still, Santorum refused to put the two women on the same playing field, saying that while Trump was “careless” and her actions “inexcusable”, what Clinton did was far worse.

> "I didn’t say [Trump] was blameless here," Santorum said. "What she did was wrong, what she did was … inexcusable ... But I don’t think it rises to the level of what happened with Hillary Clinton."

Sellers, on the other hand, called out Republicans for their hypocrisy on the issue, saying if they want to demand an investigation into Clinton’s misuse of private email, then they must do the same for Trump.

> Trump reportedly sent hundreds of emails about White House business and her official schedule to administration aides, Cabinet officials and her personal assistants, a violation of records rules.

if she was just the daughter she had no business handling government information.at all. she proved she was more than just the daughter.and as for Hilary she was investigated and found that none of those emails were "top secret" most emails on her server were about her daughters wedding plans. Ivanka deliberately forced herself forward and took on the role of top adviser and handled secret documents because TRUMP WANTED HER TO DO THAT. TO PROVE HE WAS THE BOSS. and his daughter was allowed to read and work with all the documents. Hilary was investigated and found innocent of all allegations.
