Retired Colonel To CNN: Trump’s Departure From The WH Will Be Ugly

Lt. Col. Peters said that we should expect isolated violence from Trump fanatics following his departure.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Retired Army Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters said that, regardless of whether or not President Donald Trump wins the 2020 presidential election, he will cause “great damage” to America and its democracy.

“I don’t think you’re going to have to wait to see some of Trump’s maliciousness. He’s already doing tremendous damage,” Lt. Colonel Peters began.

Lt. Colonel Peters said that the president is being aided by Senate Republicans who are “amazingly, undercutting their own institution and its powers for very short-term gain.”

“If Trump wins, he’ll do great damage. But if he loses the election, he is going to call upon his supporters to violence,” he said. While Lt. Colonel Peters did not believe that a civil war or anything of a similar magnitude was likely, he said, “But you will see at least isolated violence in the part of crackpot supporters.”

“He will be clinging to the doors of the White House.”
